Aliki Beach

We rented an apartment on Paros, in a little town named Aliki, for a week. And to give you sort of a welcome back to land after a few pages of the seafaring life, the boys provide a little photo montage of some of the amazing flowers in the town.

Teri had rented us an apartment for the week. This was where it looked out. Complete with a strategically located and shaded bench which served as sort of a home base for a number of the activities you will see on the following pages.

So, all set up, what happens in a small town on a small island in Greece?  Well, Im glad you asked. First off, you eat.  Seafood.  And a lot of it.

This particular night, Lyell consumed not one but two plates of the crawfish you see above.  The owner of the restaurant (Taverna - see if you can pronounce the name!) was duly impressed.

Theres time to sit and look out into the garden and the harbor.  And apparently time to fool with the camera so that it only picks up certain colors.  Makes for sort of an artsy look, doesnt it?!

While the mom sits on the porch and gazes outward, the boys plot their next move.  In the shade.  With something cold to drink.

Out to the point at the end of the harbor to see where navigational marking meets art?

Into a shady spot for a little reading?

Off for a walk to find the local wildlife?  These untamed beasts especially appealed to Mason.

Adventuring further, we found the local bakery. Good thing it was closer to the end of our week than the beginning or we never would have fit back into the car.

No doubt about it, you did a good job for us on this one, mom.

We're happy to head back any time for a sunset dinner on the harbors edge (and when I say that, its important to know that I really mean the edge!).
