Spring in the air, we decided it was time to hop in the car and go to Belgium...for waffles of course!
Oh, and while we were there - we also figured we should take in some culture as well. Really for the benefit of Tracy and family, of course. So we headed for a boat on the canals to see the city of Gent.
With an expression like that - wouldnt you say Mason is getting into the spirit of taking in a little culture?
We naturally found a dungeon. No way it would have held these young prisoners.
Everyone told us to bring our foul weather gear, but the more culture we took in, the more the sun shone!
And the smiles too.
An unexpected favorite was the Brussels music museum. As you walked through the museum, the wireless headsets played pieces that had been recorded using the instruments in the museum. Was actually quite lovely.
But theres only so much culture any one person can take before its time for a big pot of moules and a beer. Bring it on.
And the kids needed refueling too. For them, something equally local. More waffles of course.
Filled to the brim with culture, it was time to get back to our roots, before our real stop in Belgium....
