It has been an amazingly warm fall here. Well - after the snow and ice on the trip to the Geltenhutte. But that was all well behind us, so we headed for the Via Ferrata Bellevue, underneath the village of Nax. We started out jackets...
But some combination of the sun, the exertion, and perhaps the fear of climbing basically at the top of the world had us down to tshirts in no time.
Mason got going to an early lead - and I had to scurry to keep up!
Turns out to be a pretty exciting climb- complete with a cable bridge. Mason and I are telling Lyell to look out below - but Lyell doesnt seem appropriately nervous!
There always time for a little glamour - even on the wall.

In EB Whites "Charlottes Web", when the author describes the children swinging from the rope swing in the barn and the parents nervousness, he adds that children always hang on more tightly than their parents think they do. Fortunately, its true.
Because thats what lets us get views like this. And smiles like this.
And when its all done - this is one version of the "smile of accomplishment".
With this being another version, no less accomplished.
Way to go, Read family!
