Camp Life

There are a number of you who have been curious about life aboard a VW Camper Bus.   While we cant tell you about the huge VW gatherings at Grateful Dead concerts, Teri did take a couple of shots from our stay at South Beach State Park campgrounds, just south of Newport, Oregon.  We are comfortably backed into our spot here.  The clutter you see above the front seats is beach chairs and a beach umbrella.

This next shot gives you a good look at our setup.  Stuart is sitting at the table in the passenger seat (it turns to face backward).  For sleeping, we throw all our stuff up above in the poptop.  Then we collapse the table and pull out the back seat which forms a double bed in the back of the bus.  Lyell's basinette stretches across the two front seats so there is even room to walk where the table was.

In the shot above - please take special note of the hippie flower on the passenger door (thank you, Carr) and the jogging stroller attached to the back of the bus (thank you, Paige).

And here is a shot from inside the bus at dinner time.  The menu consisted of steak, corn and baked potatoes - all cooked on the camp fire.  Mmmm.
