Croatia Home

There is a lot to explore on these islands.  One morning we were leaving a harbor - and the boys spotted a cave.  Whoa - out goes the anchor and over the side and into the dingy they go.

They make it to the entrance of the cave no problem - but Lyell needs the support of his little brother to go in and see what's in there.  In the end - not much beside an empty tunafish can - but that doesnt make it any less the adventure.

Coming into an anchorage under power - its nice to have a scout on the bow to look for any errant rocks, and to help find that ideal anchoring location.  Good work, big fella.

Once that anchor is down - there is only one order of business.  Masks on and into the water!

Its a hard life.

But before we know it - its back into the car for that 12-hour drive back to Switzerland.  Well - it would have been 12 hours - except that the Croatian Highway Patrol closes one side of the highway on Saturday to let tourists come in from the north.  So those of us leaving have to do so on the back roads.  And at the same time - plague broke out in the back seat.

We had to quarantine the friends, who instead helped mom to navigate the scenic, but slow, back roads of Croatia.

It was a great adventure.  Even TooDog thought so.
