When the B-Team left, it was sad. And instead of crying in our beer - we went sailing. In Croatia. Here's the swarthy crew at the dock, ready to provision up the boat and head out into the wild blue unknown (sounds pretty poetic, eh?).
And unknown is it. Like you never know who is going to show up in the cockpit to help with the lines. Hey you, TooDog, haul in that mainsheet!
Or who is going to drag their legs over the side in the beautiful clear blue Croatian water.
One thing that is known is that there are going to be a lot of smiles, as everyone has a chance to do pretty much what makes them happy on the boat. For some, its the rail.
For others, its the foredeck with a good book. We sailed for hours like this one day, with the only problem coming when I had to gybe and change Teri's sunshade.
I guess with an 8-year old at the wheel - we have a higher chance of really seeing the "wild blue unknown" - but he does a heck of a job.
At anchor - everyone has their own thing too. Whether its tooling around in "Snaw" (the dinghy), where Lyell is standing, or rolling around in the beach towels - its hard to complain.
