This year we were joined at what is definitely one of our favorite places to camp ever, Kalaloch, with the Krauses.

They are fun campers - even though some of the other people in the campground looked at us a little funny when they saw this:

But that George can dig one heck of a hole.  Lyell - dont get too close - you fall in that thing we're going to have to call the fire department to get you out!

Here, Teri tries to compete - and though off to a great start - has a little work ahead of her to accomplish what George dug.

Lyell did survive the great hole to take a hike with me in the Hoh rainforest.  We kept finding smooth flat stones with sayings written on them on the trail - which was fun.  Anyway - what do you think - does he look ready to hit the Muir Trail?

Mason focused his activities on the digging aspect of the outing.  I think that we are still sweeping this fine sand out of the bottom of the bus.

It is always fun to have a friend at the beach - and Will seemed always to have a smile!
