Never underestimate the power of an evil mind.  And Lyell Camden here is the poster child.  For whatever reason, the object of interest during our visit to Kalaloch was feathers. 

Not just a handful, and not just in his hands, either.  He had a plan.  He managed to co-opt  his brother and mother into the activity, and they willingly gathered feathers and helped in the creation of of Lyell's design.

With effort, the project occupied some serious real estate on the beach...

I personally think that he had a calling from an alien race to mark a landing site for a science and exploration party, but who really knows?  Regardless, the result was quite unusual and creative.
