LCR Turns 10

When you've got something good, you stick to it.  What is remarkable is that even at the ripe old age of 10, this logic appeals - as when we asked Lyell what he would like to do for his birthday, the answer was clear.  Camping at our special spot in the Jura.  So off we went and up went the tent, unassisted by the adults.

Followed by cake - again sticking to something good (the camouflage icing).  As you can see it was a real crowd pleaser.

After even more sugar (smores), we retired to the tent.   There are no photos of this, as it was dark, and it rained quite hard.  There were a few initial worries, but once we all realized we would be dry in the tent, everyone slept well, and woke up the next morning ready for a quick janut in the lake before breakfast.

After breakfast - it was actually time for something new.  Something appropriate for the 10-year old intellect.  Geocaching with a GPS.  And quite some navigators they are, as they made their way around the whole course and back for the prizes.

As parents, we too appreciate that when you've got something good, you stick with it.  And we're gonna stick with you, big fella.

Happy birthday.
