Leukerbad with the Goodwins

In the spirit of making the most of the fall - we headed for Leukerbad with the Goodwins.  Less than an hour from beautiful Bougy - and you are really in the mountains.  Here TT looks like quite the mountaineer standing by the edge of a glacial moraine.

Until the camera pans around to find 6-year old James getting ready to float a board down the river and you realize that you're just not that far from civilization.

And civilized it is.  After a reasonably strenuous climb up to the mountain refuge, we were greeted with (of all things) a trampoline.  But what better way to stretch out those legs and get ready for...

...A beer in the refuge with Sophie.  Or at least a rousing game of Uno.  Life up in the refuge is pretty sweet - looking out at the beautiful wilderness and eating good cheese and wine.  Ahhh.

The next morning it was clear and crisp and so we took a contender for the Read family Christmas card.  We didn't build the arch in the foreground - but were quite impressed with the effort.

And all too soon - its back to the trail.  But with a big smile to go.

On the way down - we definitely had a few of those "Sound of Music" moments.  I broke into song.  Fortunately, old incorrigible.com is still a web 1.0 site and does not have streaming audio.  Yet.

Further down - James enlisted me to get to the 'really good stuff'.  A boy at heart - how could I deny him?
