But there's no letup in the action! It was into Grandma Suzie's station wagon, and off to Southern California. First stop - the train station. In Grampa Ron's garage, that is. The boys were thrilled to be able to see what a *real* train setup looks like - and even get to drive the trains. Wowee!
Then off to the beach. People laugh at us when we arrive with professional gardening tools for a day in the sand - but let me tell you - if you're serious about your work - you have to have the right equipment. And I invite you to email me if you feel that either of these gentlemen isn't serious.
From there - on to the San Diego Zoo with the B-Team. All smiles from Mason (the animal lover) just as soon as we got onto the bus for the initial tour of the zoo.
It was great to get to see Jackie and Nathan as well. But Jackie missed out on the "wear your red shirt" note for this adventure. Must have been a boy thing.
And no rest for the weary. Next stop - the happiest place on earth. Its good that we got this photo when we arrived - Disneyland is exhausting - and I don't think we would have looked as good at the conclusion.
And you might think that's enough? No way. Then off to the living desert. Here Mason attempts the 'squinty warthog glance'. I think its going to need a little work...
There, everyone got to feed a giraffe. If you know Mason - you know that he loves giraffes. And so this was a total highlight. I would have been a little nervous. Did you know that a giraffe has an 18' tongue?! Keep your ice cream cone clear!
And speaking of ice cream cones (or snow cones) - that is what a fella needs after all this excitement. Though I kind of feel like this photo could be a poster for "Why You Should Not Feed Your Child Any More Sugar" or something.
Don't worry, Mas - still plenty of sugar coming for you. |
