The snow had pretty much melted on our local ski hill by the start of April,
so we decided we should explore. Our travels took us to the Cinque Terra -
a series of five tiny towns on Italy's northwest coast. They are connected
only by footpath and rail, so the towns themselves are very quiet and there is
plenty of good exploring to do once you are there. And a few scenic
moments as well.

- We began by renting an apartment in lovely Vernazza
(if you want to see it all - just click on this and keep hitting next).
- There, of course we explored the local
castle.
- And then we headed off on the paths. Our first trek was to Monterosso.
- We did a lot more hiking - but before I talk about it - I should mention something....
- Anyway - our next trek was to Corniglia.
- We then packed up and spent a couple of days in Sestri
Levante.
- And stopped in Genoa on the way home.
