Anxious to get out and continue enjoying the Alps, we packed up our packs...
And we headed to a Refuge in the mountains above Verbier. Its meant to be a refuge that you ski into. But given that one of our number was still in recuperation from a broken arm, we skipped the skis and went a little closer to the ground. Turns out that all that grooming they do for the skiers works pretty well for the sleds too.
The Refuge was terrific - of course our busy group immediately went to work clearing the snow off the back walkway.
And before we knew it, we had to head back. But as you can see - it wasn't a painful trip. At the bottom, there was a strange combination of palm tree and snow drift. We didn't understand, so we thought we would share.
