Vernissage

Now at this point - I know that some of you are saying good old incorrigible.com is a little thin on the culture dimension.  Well - Lyell has been hard at work throughout the year studying Baselitz, and he and his class put on an art exhibition this evening to show off their own Baselitz interpretations.  First - each member of the class painted their own portrait of themselves upside down.  Lyell displays his own inverted likeness below.

Then each of the students redid the Baselitz piece of their choosing.  Here Lyell shows his version of "Aigle Bleu".

And finally - each student did their own work in Baselitz style.  Here is Lyell with his camion.

Now if that isn't culture, I don't know what is.  Here the whole class gets together with Monsieur Mercier to celebrate the exhibition, which was a raging success.

We enjoyed the whole thing.  Until - when it was all over - Lyell came back from a little adventure - shall we say 'reasonably unhappy'?  A trip to the emergency room explained his displeasure.

He is now fast asleep - sporting a shiny new cast.  The first, and hopefully the last.
