Whidbey in Fall

To celebrate a number of individuals' passing that magic age mark of 40 years old, we joined the Brights and the Thompson/Schobbes on Whidbey Island.  Some of you that know the Pacific Northwest might ask - what on earth there is to do on Whidbey Island in October (it can be pretty rainy and cold).  Go to the beach, of course!

And play in the ocean, of course!

And when its all done - warm up in the bathtub with a few of your close personal friends.

Or with a fine hound and a favorite blanket.

I particularly like this shot as it gives us that flash of insight into what it might be like to have six children.  They're all great children - but YIKES!

And after some time fueling up - what to do?  Head out to the beach again, silly.

I find that it is a little cold out there - especially if you wear shorts.  But the temperature can easily be offset with a warm friend, held close.

It was a fantastic time and we are most appreciative of the Brights for letting us join!
